Helloooo
I saw a post about crazy cheap flights from Melb/Syd to South Africa yesterday, (less than $800 return!!!).
Unfortunately that price disappeared very quickly (probably an error), buuuuut there are still return flights with Singapore Airlines available for $1200ish which is still really really good. South Africa has been on my bucket list for a little while so these flights are VERY tempting.
I used to jump at the opportunity to book cheap flights the minute I saw them, but I’ve been super busy setting up Tash Lends and have plans to grow it fairly quickly this year. The thought of disappearing on safari in a few months, in a really less than ideal timezone, is honestly a bit scary.
You really have to plan for the unknowns when setting up a business like this and having a team rely on you (just sent out a contract for my 5th full time team member!) is quite daunting at times.
In saying that though, the whole reason I wanted to work for myself was so I could have the freedom to do fun random things like fly to South Africa because the flights were on sale. Might have to give this one a miss for now and revisit later in the year, but flights are still there at the time of sending this - if you are free to take advantage!!
